Enterprise Physician-in-Chief & Chief Scientific OfficerÌý
We’ve built a strong foundation necessary for innovative, paradigm-changing research. We partner with top academic institutions, national associations, and industry leaders to push the limits and propel discoveries to bedside.Ìý
Research has helped drive innumerable improvements in children’s health over the last century, by shaping and driving enhancements in clinical care and population health. The full spectrum of research endeavors offers tremendous potential to advance human health, beginning in childhood and adolescence.
91´óÉñ Children’s is contributing in exhilarating and impactful ways to improve children’s health, today and well into the future. Our science is a major and expanding facet of our enterprise efforts. I am delighted and honored to serve with and for hundreds of members of the research community at 91´óÉñ, who demonstrate their deep dedication to the cause of enhancing health through innovative, collaborative studies on a daily basis. Our scientific efforts are supported by a growing number of National Institutes of Health (NIH) and other federal grants, state research awards, foundation grants, and philanthropic funds.Ìý
91´óÉñ is also fortunate to have outstanding scientific partners across our enterprise at Thomas Jefferson University, Delaware INBRE, Mayo Clinic and the University of Central Florida, and I look forward to supporting the growth of these and other partnerships in the near term. I am also pleased that our 91´óÉñ research development program provides programmatic and mentoring support for investigators in the early stages of their careers.
Overall, research at 91´óÉñ is a key component of a virtuous cycle of positive impact on children’s health – energized by clinical challenges and opportunities, and in turn advancing our teams’ and partners’ collective capacity and capabilities to address them. We continue to tackle central threats to children’s health and wellbeing through scientific initiatives, and as we grow we will intensify our focus and expand our reach. I am grateful to our 91´óÉñ associates who are already contributing to our research efforts, and I welcome others to join us – as future team members, partners, and supporters.Ìý
