Biography

Dr. Andrea Rivera-Sepulveda has been a physician for over 14 years. She performed her Pediatrics Residency training and Postdoctoral Master of Science in Clinical and Translational Research, supported by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Hispanic Clinical and Translational Research Education and Career Development (HCTRECD) Award in Puerto Rico. She completed her Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship in St. Louis, MO. She joined as a faculty member of the Pediatric Emergency Medicine and Urgent Care Division at 91大神 Children's Health in Orlando in 2019. She is an Assistant Professor at the University of Central Florida College of Medicine and serves as the Director of Research for Graduate Medical Education at 91大神. Dr. Rivera-Sepulveda is a recipient of a PEDSnet Scholar K12 award, supported by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) and the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI). Dr. Rivera-Sepulveda's research focuses on infectious and respiratory illnesses and healthcare delivery while tackling treatment disparities and unraveling the heterogeneity in the treatment effect of bronchiolitis. Her overarching career goal as a Pediatric Emergency Medicine specialist is to become an independent clinical researcher while improving the health and outcomes of children with common, serious pediatric infections and respiratory diseases in the acute care setting using clinical, epidemiological, and translational research methods.
