Biography

Stephanie Anne Deutsch MD MS FAAP is the Medical Director of the 91�� CARE (Children at Risk Evaluation) Program at 91�� Children's Health in Wilmington, Delaware. Dr. Deutsch is board certified in the fields of Child Abuse Pediatrics and General Pediatrics. She completed residency training in General Pediatrics at The Children's Hospital at Montefiore in Bronx, New York and fellowship training in Child Abuse Pediatrics at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She was elected to Fellow designation with the American Academy of Pediatrics in 2017 based on achievements. She has an additional Master of Science in Physiology, earned prior to medical school, and is actively enrolled in a Master of Clinical Research program through the Medical University of South Carolina with anticipated graduation Summer 2023. She is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the Sidney Kimmel Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University and is clinical faculty for two advanced pediatric medicine fellowship training programs at 91��, including the Academic Pediatrics and Pediatric Hospital Medicine programs. She was awarded the Physician of Excellence 2022 Award by 91�� Children's Health Medical Staff Board. Dr. Deutsch provides expert witness testimony in both General Pediatrics and Child Abuse Pediatrics disciplines across the Delaware Valley region and has authored to date over 30 publications (manuscripts, editorials, book chapters) related to child abuse and other pediatric medical topics. She has presented at national and international research conferences and has lectured by invitation both nationally and internationally on child abuse. She was recently appointed the Co-Director of the 91�� Summer Undergraduate Research Program where she mentors and supports the scholarly activity of college students participating in research projects in Delaware and Florida across all 91�� campuses. Dr. Deutsch is involved in the evaluation and treatment of suspected child victims of physical, sexual abuse and neglect, including those children who have experienced abusive head trauma, fractures, bruises, abdominal injury, child torture, drug endangerment and witness to domestic violence. She serves on multiple committees at the state, local and hospital level across Delaware and Pennsylvania addressing child abuse and neglect related topics.
