Get to Know Me
I’m a proud father of two with two on the way. Being a dad has opened a new door in my life — it’s helped me realize even more how special children are and what family means. I enjoy spending time with family, doing anything outdoors and watching sports. I’m originally from the Bronx, but grew up in Florida and am a lifelong Florida Gators fan. Â
Why I Treat Children
When I was in high school, my older sister was diagnosed with a rare form of pediatric cancer. It required her to get specialized treatment. She at the time was 18 and was looked up to by all the other pediatric patients as a role model, and sometimes even as a babysitter. Her impact on those kids made me want to do something for kids, too. Â
What I'm Passionate About
I’m passionate about making sure that children can still experience life as children regardless of their circumstances, location or sickness. I think it’s important to help kids maintain a sense of innocence and fun throughout the process of something as serious as open-heart surgery. Â
How I Try to Make A Difference
I try to make a difference by actively listening to patients and families, offering continued support, having a willingness to research new therapies, and providing seamless communication with primary care providers. I think it’s very important to provide constant feedback and communication for families and involve them in decision-making. Â
